The Corner Store Country Run in Phoenix has been canceled.
A note posted to the run's Facebook page said, "We regret to inform you that the Phoenix Country Run, previously scheduled for Saturday, October 21, has been cancelled. [SIC]. We thank all Phoenix Country Runners who have supported this race."
The race was to take place at Rawhide Western Town in Chandler.
Runners who already paid and registered for the race will receive a refund, the Facebook post said.
A spokesperson for the run said the cancelation in Phoenix was strictly a "business decision" as a result of Corner Store being recently acquired by Circle K's parent company.
