PHOENIX — Applebee's has revealed the latest cocktail to be part of its "Neighborhood Drink of the Month" club -- the Mai Tai.
Throughout the month of August, Applebee's restaurants throughout the nation will be whipping up Mai Tais for $1 each.
The drink is a mix of "rum, pineapple, passion fruit, orange, black cherry and lime flavors", according to the news release. It is served in a 10-ounce mug with a cocktail umbrella.
“Tiki cocktails are the hottest drinks of the season,” said Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s, in a statement. “Drinking our $1 Mai Tai is like getting whisked away to the South Seas without even having to leave the neighborhood. Grab your phones and make your social media friends jealous, because this drink is one you’ll want to be seen with!”
The fine-print you need to know: it may not be available at all locations, the price may vary at some locations, and you have to be at least 21 to drink alcohol.
