Whether you're looking for a simple spot to grab a drink after work or a place for date night, there is something extraordinary when you're on the roof of a building.

The good news is, you don't have to break the bank to take in some great views of the Valley. Since it's sunny here almost all the time, you can enjoy it at anytime. (Although if it's 100 degrees out, have a couple extra glasses of water and do not forget the sunscreen. You'll thank us later).

Here's a look at some of the rooftop and elevated patios around the Valley. Obviously this list isn't exhaustive, it's just highlighting a few around the Valley. Have a favorite not listed? Let us know in the comments section.

Tapacubo at The Graduate

If you haven't been to Tempe recently, you'll notice that The Graduate Hotel has been completely redone. One of the new additions is Tapacubo, the hotel's South American restaurant. Prep your mouth for street tacos and margaritas. Even better, the patio is on the fourth floor of the hotel and overlooks ASU Gammage and the ASU campus across the street. No better way to relax and take a break from class...or life.

Good thing we're not as loud at New York City so it'll be a peaceful lunch or dinner break. Blue Hound features a chef-driven menu focused on seasonal American dishes paired with craft cocktails, wine and beer.

Shade at W Scottsdale

Looking for some rest and relaxation? The Shade at the W Scottsdale is a little bit different from your average rooftop bar. The Shade Lounge gives you a little bit of both with the bar on the inside and a patio to take in some fresh air. If you're looking for a dip in the pool, they have cabanas and lounges along Sunset Lawn. At night, Shade becomes a nightclub so a dress code is required. But, you'll feel fancy.
