The 88th Academy Awards will be one that is talked about for a while.

It was challenging, conversational (some may call it controversial), advocating, a little boring, and influential.

We've highlighted three of the big moments from Oscar night below (although there were many more):

Chris Rock's opening monologue

We knew the Academy's diversity issue would be brought up during the Oscars--it had to. Most looked to host Chris Rock to make that happen. How would he do it? What would he say?

Rock said a lot. It began in the very first few minutes of the show.

Leonardo DiCaprio (finally) wins his Oscar

Way to go, Leo! It was one of the top awards the audience was anxiously looking forward to, would Leo finally get his first Oscar win? He did!

No was one more excited than his Titanic co-star, Kate Winslet.

#ItsOnUs campaign and Lady Gaga's powerful performance

Introduced by Vice President Joe Biden, Lady Gaga delivered a powerful version of "Til It Happens To You" where she was joined on stage by several victims of sexual assault.

The two teamed up to raise awareness for ItsonUs.org and encourage people to take the pledge to step-in, stand up and prevent sexual violence.

Another big moment included Jacob Tremblay's adorable reaction to C-3PO, BB8 and R2-D2 coming on stage.
