He could have deleted the tweet or pretended he was hacked -- and frankly, he probably should have done one of the two.

But credit hockey fan Daylen Hopkins for being a man of his word.

In February, Hopkins tweeted the following.

To be fair, it seemed like a fairly safe bet at the time. After all, the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings had combined to win the last four Stanley Cup championships.

Yeah...

Fast-forward to April when both the Blackhawks and Kings were indeed both eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Of course, the Twitterverse never forgets things like this -- and neither did Hopkins, who made good on his tweet.

First, Hopkins (whose Twitter bio consists only of "I'm pretty good at drinking beer") submitted a Twitter poll to decide which cheek would receive the ink featuring the face of Bettman, the NHL's commissioner. (After over 10,000 votes, the right cheek "won" by a 56-44 margin.)

And on Monday, Hopkins revealed the new work of art on his posterior.

The moral of the story? Uh... we're not sure. Instead, we'll leave you with one final poignant tweet from Hopkins.
