Police are investigating whether the shooting of two teens Thursday night are related.

Authorities received reports around 8 p.m. after a caller said a 15-year-old boy had been "attacked" and possibly suffered a gunshot wound near Riggs Road and Val Vista Drive.

When officers arrived to the scene, the teen was being "vague" with information, investigators said.

It was later determined that the boy had been shot but his injuries aren't life-threatening.

Authorities said they were still investigating why the shooting occurred and said there are no suspects in custody as of Friday afternoon.

Just hours after the first shooting was reported, a 17-year-old boy was taken to Gilbert Mercy Hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. It's believed that the teen was initially shot in Chandler but police are still trying to figure out the exact location.

No additional information has been released.
