New Jersey Governor Chris Christie caught a foul ball during the New York Mets' game vs. the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night, leading to boos by Mets fans and a snarky remark by a commentator.
Christie grabbed the ball in the top of the third inning at Citi Field in Queens, leading to jeers from the home fans. The Cardinals' commentator then referenced Christie's now-famous appearance at a New Jersey beach that was closed to the public during the July 4 holiday weekend due to a government shutdown initiated by Christie himself.
"Nice to see him get from the beach here to the ballpark," the commentator said.
