QUIZ: Which Arizona Cardinals coach said it -- Buddy Ryan or Bruce Arians?

Posted

Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is a wizard on the offensive side of the ball, while former Cardinals coach Buddy Ryan was a defensive guru.

But the two men have at least one thing in common: They're among the most quotable figures in NFL history.

In honor of Ryan, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 82, we compiled the following 10 quotes -- five from Buddy, five from Arians. (Hat tip to USA TODAY for the Buddy quotes.)

Can you guess which coach said each of the following quotes? Take the quiz:

1. “It’s good to have friends, but you want to beat them just like you do your enemies.”

2. “I don’t know what his status is. I don’t even know who he is.”

3. "Can you play smart, fast and physical? If you can do those three things, I’ll like you a lot.”

4. “Dumb guys sulk and pout. You never see smart guys pout. Hey, they are paid very well. If they don’t do the job, somebody’s gotta get on ’em. The good players always react the way they should.”

5. "There's no such thing as knowing at all, or even thinking you know it all. If you think you know it all, you're really in trouble, because the game's evolving and changing every day."

6. “Trade him for a six pack; it doesn’t even have to be cold.”

7. “We’ve been underdogs for what, eight or nine weeks? I can’t remember the last time we were favored.”

8. “If you’re not getting mooned, s*** thrown at the bus, they don’t respect you. You look forward to that.”

9. “He probably checked the job market out there and found there wasn’t a lot of demand for return specialists that won’t block.”

10. “Obviously, the protocol is we don’t have to do an injury report on Monday, so I just piss everybody off.”

How many did you guess correctly? Well, we didn't want you to accidentally see the correct responses before you were done guessing, so we posted them below these series of tweets related to Buddy Ryan's passing. Let us know how you did.
