It's the battle of the best prices on back to school supplies. Our Smart Shopper team shopped store after store to help you save.
In fact, some of the team got a little competitive... Specifically ABC15 Mornings Dan Spindle and Danielle Lerner.
They shopped live on Facebook this morning, competing for the title of saving you the most cash.
Danielle shopped at Staples and Dan shopped at Walmart.
Both stores have price match policies, but you have to do your research first.
Target doesn’t offer price matching but of course we still had to include them in the challenge.
We shopped for typical items you'll find on a school list... Including four ounces of Elmer's School Glue.
Right away, Walmart takes the lead charging 50 cents.
It's 74 cents at Target and on sale at Staples for $1.
Target gets back in the race with Crayola washable crayons.
You'll pay $1.97 for a 24 pack.
The same pack will cost you $2.47 at Walmart and $3.29 at Staples.
Composition notebooks seem to be on everyone’s school supply list and Target and Walmart will save you the most.
Both charge 50 cents.
Staples charged the most, $2.29
We shopped more than 10 items... Definitely a heated battle.
But in the end, either Dan or Danielle got to leave with bragging rights because Target saved us the most money for our shopping list.
The total cost... $17.77 at Target.
$18.83 at Walmart, and $36.08 at Staples.
