DPS: Reckless, possibly impaired driver passes out along Loop 101 after crash

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a reckless driver that was also possibly impaired, crashed into a tow truck and passed out behind the wheel along the Loop 101 near Guadalupe Road Tuesday.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. when DPS says a tow truck driver tried to stop a reckless driver traveling southbound on the Loop 101. The reckless driver then crashed into the tow truck and was found by troopers passed out behind the wheel.

DPS says the driver was possibly impaired at the time of the crash.

It’s unclear if there were any serious injuries.

Traffic was blocked for about 30 minutes in the area because of the crash but it has since been cleared.

The driver has not been identified at this time.
