Like most of us who live in the Valley, Larry Fortner and his wife enjoy spending time in their backyard.

But Larry says the last year has been frustrating.

All he sees are cables running through the yard.

They also run through the yards of several neighbors.

He says he tried contacting Century Link numerous times to get them removed or buried.

Larry says he got assurances it would be done, but it never happened.

And Larry says he isn't even a Century Link customer.

He talked about burying them himself.

Instead, he let me know.

We got hold of the right people at Century Link.

The company says: "CenturyLink's goal is to respond to customer concerns as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, burying these lines took longer than it should have. We apologize for the delay and for any inconvenience it may have caused."

And true to their word, workers came out.

The lines are now removed.

And Larry's backyard viewing is a less frustrating experience.

The lesson here: Don't give up.

When Larry couldn't do it himself, he reached out to us.

You could also contact the Arizona Corporation Commission.

But they only regulate certain issues involving phone service.
