A woman used her car to assault her ex-fiancé in Tempe.
Tempe police report that on May 28, Erica Rachelle Lara was meeting her ex-fiancé in Tempe for a custody exchange of their child.
After watching Lara put the child in his car seat, the victim proceeded to get the child out of the car seat, believing Lara was intoxicated.
As the victim was unbuckling the seat belt, Lara reportedly got into the car and started driving in reverse. The victim began running with the car, but was soon hit by the car door and fell to the ground.
Lara was later caught at her home in Mesa. She reportedly told police that she didn't mean to injure the victim, but was trying to get away from him.
She has been charged with aggravated assault.
