A woman was reportedly assaulted while preventing the carjacking of her boyfriend's Camaro in Phoenix, according to police.

Phoenix police report that on March 31 they responded to 28th and Van Buren Streets for a reported carjacking.

Police say a woman was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend's Camaro, waiting for him to return. That's when 33-year-old Gregory Ryan Wilson reportedly entered and started the car.

The woman grabbed the keys from the ignition and threw them out the car window. During this time, Wilson allegedly punched the woman, "multiple times all over her body."

As the woman ran from the car, Wilson pursued her after stealing her cell phone, from inside the vehicle.

He was confronted by the woman’s boyfriend, whom he reportedly punched and kicked, before running away.

Police tracked the stolen phone and located Wilson a few blocks away.

Officers reportedly fought with Wilson and tased him before taking him into custody.

Wilson has been charged with assault, robbery and attempted car theft.
