Scottsdale police have arrested a man for extorting another man for money by threatening to release sexually explicit photos of him.

Scottsdale police report that on May 22 they arrested 26-year-old Famous Ware, near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road.

Police say, in January, Ware began a sexual relationship with the victim after meeting him online.

In February, he allegedly used a fake name to send a message to the victim saying, “need $7,500 or else." He also reportedly told the victim that he "knew enough to ruin his life."

Police say Ware continued to use a fake name to send monetary demands to the victim, eventually sending him pictures and a video of the victim in sexual acts, and demanding $15,000.

The victim allegedly recorded a meeting with Ware where he gave him some of the money.

Police tracked Ware through cell phone records and arrested him on May 22.

He is being held on multiple charges of extortion and surreptitious recording.
