An elderly Mesa man is accused of offering a pre-teen girl money to touch her sexually.
Mesa Police report that on March 28, they responded to an apartment complex near Gilbert and Broadway roads. They were told that 71-year-old Javier Serrano Morales offered money to a pre-teen girl if she would go into his apartment so that he could touch her breasts.
Police say a neighbor witnessed the offer and the girl reported that this was not the first time Morales made the offer.
Police say Morales has been accused of other sexual crimes against children.
In 2016, he tried to grab a 16-year-old girl, who ran away fearing she would be sexually assaulted.
Morales was also accused of molesting a 5-year-old boy last year after he lured the child into his apartment and sexually touched him.
Morales reportedly told police that, "his thoughts had progressed to fantasies," and blamed this on alcohol.
He also allegedly told police that he is from Chiapas, Mexico and entered the United States illegally 12 years ago.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond for sexual abuse and child molestation.
