Despite their 7-8-1 season, the Arizona Cardinals had five players named to Pro Football Focus' list of the Top 101 Players from the 2016 NFL Season released Wednesday.
Surprisingly, cornerback Patrick Peterson was not one of them -- and that didn't sit well with the six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection.
PFF's list included Cardinals running back David Johnson (No. 23), defensive end Calais Campbell (No. 24), linebacker Chandler Jones (No. 62), safety Tony Jefferson (No. 84) and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (No. 89). But Peterson's name was conspicuously absent.
That news wasn't well received by P2 or his teammate, safety Tyrann Mathieu.
No P2? https://t.co/rB6hpY73SJ

So does that mean these "experts" will be releasing a Top 100 "Not Targeted" List? ?Nope. #NotLosingAnySleepthough #DontKnowRealBall https://t.co/GegcBC2Hpy

AZCardinals.com writer Kyle Odegard noted PFF doesn't consider the quality of the competition -- or the lack of passes thrown a receiver's way due to outstanding coverage -- when compiling its weekly player ratings.
I think cause I don't do enough or make enough splash plays. But I can help my don't show on the stat sheet often. #justdoingmyjob??

Anyone who follows Peterson on Twitter knows he won't satisfied until everyone considers him the best at what he does -- and in that respect, PFF may have just done the Cardinals a favor.
I love it. Really can't wait till the 17 season now!!!!
