Authorities say an armed robbery suspect who stole a phone at gunpoint has been taken into custody.

Thursday, officers responded to near Vistancia Boulevard and El Mirage Road after learning a suspect arranged to meet the victim online to purchase a cell phone. When the meeting took place, police said the suspect pulled a gun on the victim and took the cell phone.

Police searched the area, which led to precautionary lockdowns at Vistancia Elementary and Lake Pleasant Elementary that lasted for around two hours.

Friday afternoon, police arrested the suspect at an address near where the armed robbery occurred. Investigators recovered the gun used in the incident, most of the clothing the suspect was wearing at the time and the stolen cell phone.
