Pigs on the loose? That's just not kosher.

Around 8 a.m. Saturday, Kenda Seavers and Jerod King, both part of a volunteer group called Animal Lovers of Laveen were called to help catch two hogs roaming around Playa Margarita Park near 35th and Southern avenues.

"We knew they were food interested, which was the first battle," King told ABC15.

Using dog traps and apples, cheerios and yes a can of Vienna sausage, they were able to catch the smaller pig. The larger swine wasn't so simple.

King said after trying every phone number they could find, an officer with the Arizona Department of Agriculture responded to help.

King and the officer were able to use a net and lead ropes to guide the pig into a trailer.

"There's never a dull moment," he said.

The group's mission is to help any animal in need.

In this case, "not only can they be harmed but people driving can be harmed," Seavers said.

It's still unclear who the pigs belong to.
