The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that killed a man in Guadalupe at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The shooting happened near Calle Guadalupe and Avenida del Yaqui at a home. MCSO says a man was sitting in the front yard of a residence when the shooting happened.
Sunday evening, deputies identified the victim as 27-year-old Benito Uriarte.
Family members tell ABC15 that he was sitting outside with friends and the group was drinking when a vehicle drove up and opened fire.
The man was struck and died. Detectives are investigating the homicide and are trying to piece together the incident.
