A BASE jumper was injured Saturday when his parachute didn’t open correctly.
Brett Broman from Superstition Fire and Medical said the jumper made his leap from roughly a 5,500 foot at the Superstition Mountains.

According to Broman, the 36-year-old man’s parachute failed to open properly and he tumbled nearly 40 feet landing on a boulder in the foothills.
Crews were able to rescue the patient from that location and he is being transferred to a trauma center in Scottsdale with a hip fracture.
