A lockdown as Central Arizona College's campus in Apache Junction has been lifted shortly after it was issued.

Both Apache Junction police and Central Arizona College posted on their Facebook pages that the college's Superstition Mountain campus was put on lockdown while police investigated a report of an armed person on campus.

The lockdown lasted for about 30 minutes when police have the all clear.

"The College has received an all clear from Apache Junction Police Department. The Superstition Mountain Campus is no longer on lock down. There was no actual threat it was just a precaution," the college said in an updated Facebook post.

The initial post from Apache Junction police said, "Per standard protocol, CAC on lock down due to report to campus security of person on campus allegedly carrying a gun. Officers on scene searching campus. Please avoid the area until situation resolved. Thank you."
