Deputies are investigating after a vehicle struck a man as the man was trying to cross the road.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said a female driver struck a man near 91st Avenue and McDowell Road around 8:30 p.m.
The man, who is in his 30s, was treated by Phoenix fire paramedics. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Phoenix Police Department said the man had a head injury.
The driver, a female, did stay on scene until officials arrived.
MCSO said the man appeared to have crossed in the middle of the street, the woman told officials it was too dark to see him.
Deputies do not believe speed was a factor, impairment does not seem to have played a role in the collision.
