Driver arrested after deadly pedestrian-involved crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian-involved crash in the west Valley. 

According to police, 29-year-old Jovita Baldwin was crossing the street mid-block near 99th Avenue and Camelback Road early Thursday morning. A passing car struck Baldwin, causing serious injuries. 

The victim was taken to the hospital, but later died. 

Police say the driver stayed at the scene of the crash and was arrested for impairment.
