Authorities say a pedestrian was hit and killed on southbound Interstate 17 near Dunlap Avenue on Tuesday night.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said all southbound lanes of the interstate were closed at Dunlap due to the crash. The freeway reopened around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a man got out of his vehicle and was possibly hit by another car. Troopers were still responding to the scene, DPS said.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, he was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. DPS says he died just before 10 p.m.

Video from Air15 showed DPS troopers surrounding one vehicle in the far-right lane.
