Hundreds of people were arrested during a large drug and arrest operation in Mexico and Arizona.

According to the Tucson Sector Border Patrol, 467 people were arrested in the last couple weeks of April during Operation "Double Threat".

Authorities also seized 25,000 pounds of marijuana worth about $12.5 million. They also identified 11 stolen vehicles, seized $250,000 US and $16,392 worth of Mexican pesos.

The operation was reportedly done with targeted enforcement in high-traffic areas in Nogales, Customs and Border Protection says.

Mexican officials helped analyze traffic trends and patterns of illegal activity.

Operation "Double Threat" reportedly resulted in a 44 percent drop in illegal entries in Nogales.

"Some of these drugs were seized in Mexico before they even had a chance to cross the border and further endanger our communities," Tucson Sector Chief Paul Beeson said in a statement. "Our ability to work in a coordinated fashion with our law enforcement partners in Mexico contributes to a safer border environment for us all."
