Harold Burton likes to talk.

He's a World War ll veteran. And he's 95 years old.

So, there's a lot of life to talk about.

And the Apache Junction man had plenty to say involving Sears recently.

He says a dishwasher repairman broke his granite kitchen counter.

When he couldn't get the Sears insurer to pay for it, he let me know.

We aired a story in March.

And Brandon Holtzman happened to see it.

What happened next brings a smile to Harold's face.

Brandon owns Holtzman Home Improvement with his dad Danny.

It's located in Tempe but does business Valley-wide.

That includes Apache Junction where Brandon, Danny and the team decided to help Harold.

Since the old granite counter was broken in 3 places, Holtzman and team replaced the whole area.

Not only did they replaced the granite, they gave Harold a new sink, new faucets and a disposal.

And they installed it all for FREE.

Our Assistance League of Phoenix/Let Joe Know volunteer Jay was there to see it all.

Jay says he spent 51 weeks trying to help Harold, even when Harold wanted to give up.

"I said no Harold, I'm sticking with this deal. We're in this together."

Brandon says Holtzman Home Improvement is all about giving back.

"It's so much to him and so little to us,  to just give him something and not have to be stressed over it. We can take care of one thing," Brandon says.

And Harold, well, he was almost uncharacteristically speechless.

Harold said when he saw the new kitchen, he "almost fell over. I can't believe it."

"How many people in the world like these? Not too many," he says.

Thanks to Holtzman Home Improvement for all they did.

If you get a chance, let them know what you think!
