A Gilbert man is facing charges after allegedly sending nude photos and videos to an undercover officer posing at a teenage girl.
Police said James O'Connor, 51, responded to an online advertisement in February and believed he was chatting with a 14-year-old girl. In reality, he was communicating with an undercover police officer.
He maintained an online relationship with the "girl" for five months.
Over that time, he sent more than 40 images and 10 videos to the undercover officer, each depicting him naked or performing sex acts, according to the police report.
Police said O'Connor stated several times that he wanted the messages and pictures deleted because he could "get in trouble and go to jail."
He was arrested July 6 at his Gilbert home near Higley and Riggs roads and faces three counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
