A medical student in the United States for his residency rotations was allegedly caught accessing child pornography.

Chandler police report that in early February they began an online investigation looking for people downloading child porn. They located several files attached to a home in Chandler near Guadalupe and Higley roads.

On April 5, they executed a search warrant at the home where they contacted 34-year-old Luis Gomes-Ramirez, who reportedly told investigators that he downloaded child porn just the night before and has been doing so, on a regular basis, for the past 20 years.

Chandler police say Ramirez is currently attending medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico and is doing residencies in Gilbert and Mesa. He allegedly told police that he also did a 6-week rotation at a pediatric center

Ramirez was born in Mexico but obtained U.S. citizenship in 2001.

He is being held on a $200,000 bond and has been charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation with a minor.
