Umpires bring Build-a-Bear to Phoenix Children's Hospital

MLB umpires took time out of their busy schedule to visit the kids at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

"Umpires kind of have this persona about them as being mean guys that walk on the field and everybody yells at you," said umpire Dale Scott. "So this is a really good opportunity for us to spread the joy around a little bit."

The crew in blue who are also working the Giant -D-backs series this week, visited PCH as part of their Umps Care charity program.

With Build-a-Bear on their team, no one struck out. Kids got to choose from a variety of outfits for their new furry friends.

"It just gives a chance for the kids to think about something else for a while," said Scott.
