Phoenix Open 2014: Celebrities announced for golf tournament

The following celebrities will participate in the Waste Management Phoenix Open Annexus Pro-Am, January 27- February 2, 2014.

Joel Murray

Randy Johnson is a five-time Cy Young Award winner, and lead the Diamondbacks to their first World Series Championship in 2001. He finished his career with 303 wins and ranks second all-time on the MLB strikeout list (4,875) behind Nolan Ryan (5,714).

Julius "Dr. J" Erving is the 5th highest scorer in professional basketball and a four-time league MVP with the ABA's Virginia Squires and the NBA Philadelphia 76ers.

Bruce Arians will be participating in his first WM Phoenix Open pro-am. He also hosts a celebrity golf tournament to benefit the Arians Family Foundation.

Country music star Jake Owen will be performing at the Coors Light Birds Nest on January 30. He took up golf at an early age and won his first tournament when he was just 15 years old. He attended Florida State University, but after a wakeboarding accident resulted in reconstructive surgery, it left Owen unable to continue playing golf competitively.

Emmitt Smith is an NFL Hall of Famer and is the all-time leading rusher. He won three Super Bowls and spent 15 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.

Former all-pro quarterback Jim McMahon played 15 seasons in the NFL for seven different teams. He is the former NFL NFC Rookie of the Year and a two-time Super Bowl champion. McMahon now lives in Scottsdale.

Actor and director Joel Murray is best known for his roles on Mad Men, Dharma and Greg, Two and a Half Men and as the voice of Don Carlton in the movie Monsters University. Joel is the brother to Bill Murray.

Tee times for the Pro-Am will be from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.  Exact tee times will be announced on Tuesday, January 28 on the tournament website.
