The Arizona Cardinals seem to be serious about securing their quarterback of the future now rather than later.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Cardinals, which currently own the 15th overall pick in the NFL Draft, "may be the team to watch" in terms of making a trade to move up in the first round of the draft, which will take place Thursday night.

"They certainly seem like they’re making the most phone calls about possibly moving up for a quarterback," Rapoport said on NFL Network. "We don’t know where they could go but… it’s safe to assume that (pick No.) 5 or 6 could be potential slots to trade for a quarterback."

In a follow-up tweet, Rapoport added the Cardinals are "making a lot of noise" about moving up in the draft and are "definitely doing due diligence."

Rapoport's report comes after Mike Klis at 9News in Denver reported the Cardinals are one of three teams that have reached out to the Denver Broncos about making a trade for the No. 5 overall pick. The Indianapolis Colts own the No. 6 pick.

The Cardinals have reportedly shown interest in all four quarterbacks projected to be taken early in the first half of the NFL Draft: USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield.
