Friday Night Blitz High School Football Wrap-up: Week 7

Basha vs. Hamilton:

The Hamilton Huskies taking on the 9th ranked Basha Bears in the ABC15 Game of the Week.

On senior night for the Hamilton Huskies, they take the early lead on Tyrell Smith touchdown. Huskies up 12-0.

The Bears keep fighting back, Zach Werlinger completes the pass to Ryan Robertson to bring the bears within 12 to 7.

Hamilton comes right back, Tyrell Smith scores his 2nd touchdown of the night, and the Huskies lead 19-7.

Zach Werlinger keeping the Bears close all night, he throws his 2nd touchdown of the night to Rajhan Meriwether for a 10-yard touchdown.

Hamilton holds on to win 32-31.

Brophy vs. Mountain Pointe:

Top ranked Mountain Pointe Pride taking on the Brophy Broncos who have struggled this season with a 2-4 record.

Mountain Pointe playing without star running back Paul Lucas, but that didn't slow down the Pride offense.

Antonio Hinojosa gets the scoring started when he finds Jalen Brown in the corner of the end zone, Pride up 7-0.

Running back Brandyn Leonard getting some carries for the injured Lucas, he scores from 4-yards out.

Pride win big, 31-0.

Chaparral vs. Arcadia:

The Chaparral Firebirds traveling to Arcadia High School to face the Titans.

The Firebirds control this one from the start. Backup quarterback Chandler Fox getting the start. He finds Trevor Wood in the back of the end zone to extend the lead to 21-0.

Elijah Castro with another strong performance for the Firebirds, he gets into the end zone and the Firebirds are up 35-0.

Chaparral returns two interceptions for touchdowns, the first by Tyler Whiley, and then Kurt Shughart returns one.

Chaparral wins big 49-0.

Horizon vs. North Canyon:

The 10th ranked Horizon Huskies lead by first year head coach Kris Heavner taking on the North Canyon Rattlers.

Big night for the running game, Luke Quinn with the 42 yard touchdown.

Horizon wins 63-6.

Desert Vista vs. Centennial:

The 3rd ranked Centennial Coyotes playing host to Desert Vista in Peoria.

The Coyotes get on the board first. Daniel Smith finds Austin Barbini for the score 7-0 Coyotes.

Centennial getting it done on all three phases of  the game. They block the Desert Vista punt, Daylan Brimer scoops it up for the Coyotes.

With the 2nd Quarter winding down, Daniel Smith hits Tanner Thiele in the end zone to extend the Coyotes lead.

Centennial holds off Desert Vista 33-16.

Mesa vs. Red Mountain:

The battle in the East Valley with Red Mountain taking on 12th ranked Mesa High.

Kiwan Lear with a spark for the Lions. He returns the 2nd half kickoff 96 yards for the touchdown.

The Lions go on to with easily 39-0.

Liberty vs. Deer Valley:

In Glendale, the Liberty Lions playing Deer Valley High School.

Deer Valley quarterback Devon Palomino having a great game. He finds Kenneth Wright for a 69 -yard touchdown.

Later in the 3rd, Palomino and Wright hook up again for 38 yards. Next play, Sy Munden gives Deer Valley a 18-15 lead.

Liberty comes back in an exciting game 34-31.

Skyline vs. Desert Ridge:

The battle of Crismon Road in East Mesa, Desert Ridge and the Skyline Coyotes.

Desert Ridge quarterback Tarek Morrison scrambles, finds EJ McClanahan for a 42-yard gain. That sets up the easy touchdown run.

The Jaguars beat the Coyotes 42-19
