BLOG: Carson Palmer and Bruce Arians not on same page

PHOENIX, AZ - Let me start by saying, Carson Palmer is definitely an upgrade over what we've had the last three years. The problem is, he and Coach Bruce Arians just aren't on the same page yet!

I'd like to tell you to be patient and give them time to figure it out, but the reality is, the Cardinals are entering the toughest stretch of the season: This week at the Forty-Niners, then a Thursday night home game against the Seahawks. They follow that up with the Falcons and the Texans! Clearly, we'll know more about the Cardinals offense a month from now!

The good news is, the defense is playing great! In fact, the defense is the reason the Cardinals have won the last two games. The problem here is, you can't keep putting all the pressure on the defense!

So far this season, Palmer has thrown five touchdown passes and nine interceptions! He's completed 106 of 180 passes for 1,185 yards which ranks him 19th in the NFL. His five TD's put him in 21st and his nine interceptions are second worst in the League only to Eli Manning's twelve. In the last three games, Palmer has thrown two touchdown passes and seven interceptions. Not good by any stretch of the imagination.

Look, it's pretty simple! Palmer doesn't have time to sit back in the pocket and survey the field, so get the ball out of his hands quicker with shorter routes and crossing patterns! Duh!

That's Fouhy on Sports!
