Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu has a separated shoulder and will miss 3 to 6 weeks of action, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians announced Monday.

Mathieu, who missed the entire second half of the Cardinals' game at the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, was originally listed as probable to return to the game but never did.

The Honey Badger was named to the NFL's All-Pro squad last season despite suffering a season-ending ACL injury late in the year. He has played in all eight of Arizona's games this season, recording 27 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

The good news: Mathieu will have an extra week to heal up, as the Cardinals are off this week. Their next game will be at home on Sunday, Nov. 13 vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
