Friday through Sunday, January 24-26
Arizona Balloon Classic is Arizona's premier hot-air balloon race and festival. The morning sky will be filled with more than 30 colorful hot-air balloons. In the evening, tethered hot-air balloons glow in time to music. This three-day event also features a family fun zone, tethered rides, entertainment, food and shopping. Spectators can walk on the field to experience balloon inflation and lift off. $20 on Friday and Saturday; free Sunday; free for active military and ages 12 and younger; $5 parking. Saturday, January 25
Connect2Stem: This is a family friendly event, which celebrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine. Youth of all ages can experience the wonders of STEM hands-on, encouraging them to one day pursue a degree or occupation in one of the related fields. Meet robots and Ghostbusters, try your hand at robotic surgery, play with planets, walk through a giant colon and have fun learning at the sixth annual Connect2STEM. Free. 10am-3pm. Doggie Street Festival: This is one of the largest adopt-a-thons and pet celebrations. Friendly pets and their owners can discover favorite pet products and services and enjoy yummy treats, a kids area and entertainment. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free. Steele Indian School Park, 300 E.
