World Atlatl Day Competition: Join Pueblo Grande Museum and SALT (Study of Ancient Lifeways and Technologies) in celebrating World Atlatl Day! The local primitive skills group SALT will put on an atlatl demonstration. The atlatl is a weapon predating the bow and arrow. Used worldwide for thousands of years, it proved an effective weapon. Very Hungry Caterpillar's 50th Birthday: Visit Butterfly Wonderland's new special exhibition "Very Hungry Caterpillar's 50th Birthday". It's been half a century since The Very Hungry Caterpillar was written by Eric Carle. Butterfly Wonderland is proud to join hands with Penguin Publishing and Eric Carle to bring a special exhibition that celebrates this book and other works of Eric Carle. From caterpillars in the lobby to children's activities throughout the facility, the exhibition will dazzle and delight guests of all ages.
