Healing Field Memorial: The 18th anniversary of September 11th, 2001 shall not be forgotten. Tempe Healing Field volunteers erect 3,000 full-size American Flags, each featuring a personal bio card of someone who lost his or her life on that tragic day. Sept. 7-11th, 6am-8pm. daily. Free. Preschool Saturday Science: Intro to Coding with KIBO. Without realizing it, we're balancing all the time. We bend over to pick up something we dropped, walk along curbs, run up and down hills or steps, and carry heavy bags on one shoulder - all without falling over. The Leap into Science balance workshop invites children and families to learn more about the science of balance by exploring and manipulating the placement of weight in toys, structures, and in their own bodies. Caregivers are required to participate in the class at no additional fee. The Children's Learning & Play Festival is a FREE indoors event with authors, illustrators, storytelling, music, entertainment and fun for the whole family. The annual festival focuses on literacy, education and early childhood development. Kids and adults alike will experience learning through life-sized dinosaurs, wildlife exhibits and live music and entertainment.
