Vice President Mike Pence's campaign events that were scheduled in Arizona and Florida next week have been postponed by the Trump campaign, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the states according to CNN.

The events will be canceled "out of an abundance of caution," a campaign spokesperson told CNN.

Vice President Mike Pence was set to attend a Faith in America event in Tucson Arizona on Tuesday, June 30.

This follows President Trump's Tuesday visit to the border wall in Yuma and speech given at an event in Phoenix.

Vice President Pence is still scheduled to come to Arizona on Tuesday and meet with Governor Doug Ducey on the efforts the state is taking to combat COVID-19.

Pence is also still traveling to Florida, the White House confirmed, saying he will meet with Gov. Ron DeSantis and his healthcare teams.

Pence said Friday during a briefing by the White House's coronavirus task force that he would visit Florida, Texas and Arizona this week to receive a "ground report" on spiking cases of COVID-19 across the sunbelt.

Pence's office did not give an updated schedule for his events.
