Governor Doug Ducey is under a tight deadline to boost education funding in Arizona and he needs to convince you it is a good plan.

The plan is to bring $3.5 billion into Arizona’s education system and it will settle a lawsuit filed by school districts after the state did not properly fund them during the recession.

To go through with the plan, Ducey is proposing using money from the State Land Fund but opponents say it is deceptive and it could cap future spending.

Ducey said the plan will not cost taxpayers a dime.

"This is our top priority in our administration to get this passed, but ultimately it will be up to the voters," Ducey said.

You can vote on this plan on May 17.
