Early voting for November's general election is starting and about 2.3 million early ballots are heading for mailboxes across the state.

The ballots will be mailed Wednesday to voters on the state's permanent early voter list. Arizona has more than 3.5 million registered voters and about 65 percent of them get mailed early ballots.

The Nov. 8 election will decide who becomes the next president. Also on Arizona's ballot is the U.S. Senate seat now held by John McCain, all nine congressional districts and 90 state House and Senate seats.

Arizonans also will get to vote to fill three seats on the Corporation Commission from two Democrats and three Republicans running. The commission regulates utilities and sets power rates.

Local elections and judges are also on many ballots.
