Four people were arrested Wednesday after Border Patrol agents found drugs and a stolen weapon in their vehicle during an immigration inspection in Ehrenberg.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, agents discovered a loaded 9 mm pistol, which had been reported stolen in Eloy, and a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

During the inspection, agents also learned that three of the four occupants had warrants out for their arrest.

All four were taken into custody and identified as U.S citizens.

The firearm was turned over to the La Paz County Sheriff's Department.

“This is another example of the Border Patrol working with our law enforcement partners to keep our community and our country safe,” said Chief Patrol Agent Anthony J. Porvaznik. “In this case, a stolen firearm was taken off the street and the criminal violators were arrested on multiple charges and warrants.”
