Ten-year-old opera singer Harmony Scheirmann sings opera to raise money for church

SURPRISE, AZ - It's not unusual for kids these days to decide to want to help those in need. Their ideas may range from lemonade stands to yard work and things of that nature.

Ten-year-old Harmony Scheirmann from Surprise, Arizona decided to go a different route. You see, Harmony has a very special talent. She decided to put that talent to use in order to raise some money for her church.

"My church was doing a fundraiser and I didn't have very much money to give, so instead, I gave them a song," said Harmony.

Harmony has been singing since she was two years old. When she was around eight, she heard Jackie Evanco sing and immediately fell in love with opera.

"It was really hard at first, the words would just jumble up in my mouth, but once I got to learn them really good, they became really easy," said Harmony.

With the help of her entire family she recorded, "Caro Mio Ben," and will sell her version to raise money to give to her church.

You can find Harmony's song on iTunes for 99 cents.  It is also on Google Play, Amazon as well as her Facebook page, They Call Me Harmony.
