Silent Witness is now the second agency offering a reward after a dog was dragged by a vehicle in Surprise back on December 1.

According to Silent Witness, a reward was put together after several citizens donated funds to help find those responsible for tying a rope around the animal's neck and dragging him behind a vehicle at a high rate of speed.

According to police, the dog was located near Grand Avenue and Dysart Road. The pup was covered in dirt, asphalt and blood and also had open wounds to his legs, body and head.

The animal was ultimately euthanized on December 2 because of his severe injuries, but so far no arrests have been made.

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $4,000.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is also offering a $5,000 reward in hopes that information will be given to police that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for injuring the dog.

Both rewards, at the moment, are being offered separately. PETA encourages tipsters to contact Surprise police at (623) 222-8477. Silent Witness tips can be left anonymously by calling (480) WITNESS.
