Teen walked into McDonald’s bleeding, asking for help.
SURPRISE, AZ - Police in the town of Surprise say a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to one of his legs Thursday evening was self-inflicted.
According to Surprise police Sgt. Bert Anzini, the boy walked into a McDonald's restaurant near Reems and Greenway roads to ask for help after being shot in the thigh.
The boy originally gave police a false story but later admitted he lied to avoid being arrested, Anzini said.
No criminal charges have been filed as of Friday morning.
