Mother Nature became quite the alarm clock for those who live in the West Valley Saturday morning.

But, it turns out, the wind was the warning one Goodyear couple needed. They woke up just in time to miss a tree toppling into their bedroom near Dysart and Thomas roads.

"It's just massive," homeowner Al Gonzales exclaimed. "Massive destruction!"

Gonzales has lived in his Goodyear home for more than 20 years. He said, he has never seen, heard or experienced a storm quite like this one.

Gonzales and his wife were sleeping soundly until the storm started. They got out of bed 20 minutes before that tree came crashing inside.

"The windows were starting to rattle and they were howling," Gonzales explained. "And I said, 'We better get away from the windows' and then all of a sudden we heard a big crash. Bam!"

Luckily, no one was hurt. Gonzales and his wife have a spare room in their house that they will be able to stay in while crews work to remove the tree and fill in the hole.

"We're all safe and that's all I care about," Gonzales said.
