Fatama Sangarie's two-year old son loves playing video games.
"My son was so attached to it. He played games and read stories with it every night," said Sangarie.
We're talking about Nabi, a tablet she bought for her son.
Sangarie was shopping at Shiekh Shoes at Arrowhead Towne Center on Thursday, August 8 when she set the tablet next to the cash register to make her purchase. She walked out of the store forgetting that the tablet was still on the counter.
Another woman noticed the tablet on the counter as well. Instead of turning it in to the manager, surveillance footage shows her putting it in her bag and walking away.
"He's been crying for it since then and asking for it," said Sangarie.
The surveillance footage shows the woman stealing the tablet in front of her own kids.
"The video shows that they are with kids," said Sangarie. "So they took it for their kids and deprived my son."
Sangarie filed a police report with the Glendale Police Department regarding the stolen tablet. But she still has a hard time explaining to her son the tablet he loved so much is now gone.
"I just keep telling him 'I didn't see it, I didn't see it, I'll just keep looking for it,'" Said Sangarie. "So it makes me feel really sad."
She just hopes the woman does the right thing and returns the device so her son can enjoy it once again.
