Luke Air Force Base celebrates 70+ years of service from retiring employee Dorothy Rowe

GLENDALE, AZ - Luke Air Force Base's 56th Comptroller Squadron hosted a retirement ceremony Tuesday to commemorate one of their employee's 70+ year career.

Dorothy Rowe concluded her employment at Luke Air Force Base as the longest-serving civil servant in the Air Force, according to a report from Luke AFB.

The 88-year-old, who could have retired 50 years ago, loved her job as the 56th Comptroller Squadron financial analysis flight chief as well as her now former colleagues, who she sees as family.

Rowe was celebrated during a ceremony held in her honor and presided by the Acting Secretary of the Air Force, Eric Fanning, at 11 a.m. in Glendale.
