“Why me?” said Mario Mobilia, a World War II veteran.

Mobilia is so humble and still very surprised about his trip to Washington D.C. He leaves on Tuesday.

"They are taking care of everything," said Mobilia.

It will be his first time seeing the World War II Memorial in D.C.

"I'm honored really, to go on the trip and be with the other guys."

The 90-year-old joined the army right after graduating from high school; he was deployed to Japan right after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

He says there are so many other World War II veterans more deserving of this trip, but he can’t wait to be reunited with the men who fought with him during the war.

The group he will be with might be complete strangers, but the war that brings them together will bring back the same memories.

"When you serve with guys, you have this feeling of protection,” said Mobilia.
