Typhoon Haiyan: Glendale church dedicates morning service to families affected by typhoon

GLENDALE, AZ - Today at Crossover Church in Glendale, Pastor John Garcia dedicated the Filipino-American church's morning service to the families affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

"We trust God is in control, even though we can't understand everything," Garcia said.

Tacloban native Lila McClusky lost her sister to the typhoon. Her sister was visiting family last week in the area.

"My stomach, I feel like I want to throw up," McClusky said. "I keep crying and crying every day. I can't even sleep at night."

Garcia hopes the Valley community as a whole will continue to support each other.

"Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike have poured out all the resources -- their hearts and their strength," Garcia said.

But prayer alone can't heal all the wounds.

"It feels good," said McClusky. "I can say that (prayer) is healing, but inside of your body, it's pain."
