In a sign the Valley's real estate market continues to improve, last week a raccoon looked to a higher perch than is typical for the denning animals.

Emergency Animal Medical Technicians from the Arizona Humane Society were called to a Glendale home Friday after a family noticed a raccoon had decided to camp on its roof.

The animal bolted after a technician climbed up to help get it down. The critter jumped from the roof to a nearby tree and scurried down the drunk, according to a release from the humane society.

The EAMT followed the raccoon as it scaled three fences and dashed through backyards. Eventually, the animal was corralled, put into a carrier and given water.

The raccoon was taken to the South West Wildlife Conservation Center, where after a few days of monitoring it will be released back into a less developed habitat.
